REVAMP/ORGANIZE YOUR CLOSET FOR SPRING & SUMMER! :)

Hi Guys,

I recently conducted a massive clean out and organization for my closet! Here are a few easy steps for organizing  your closet to reflect the current & upcoming season.

CLICK HERE TO WATCH MY YOUTUBE VIDEO!!

1. Get a clothing rack!
A clothing rack allows you to display pieces that inspire you.  It also makes your current wardrobe visible. It's easier to put outfits together when you can see what you have.

2. Remove anything that you will not wear during the Spring/Summer.
This includes extremely thick or heavy garments, darker shades, inappropriate fabrics, etc. You want lighter, and brighter garments for the Spring/Summer.

3. Categorise your clothes.
Whether you color coordinate or arrange my article type, or both, this is a great way to see what you have!

4. Throw in any new pieces you may want to wear.
Now is the time to put those new purchases or old finds on display! Be sure to donate any clothing you do not see yourself wearing next year.

5. Don't forget your shoes!
It is also important to organize your shoes by shade and by type. Make sure you have them set up in a way that you can see your options.

BONUS TIP: You can also organize your jewelry in the same manner. I like to lay my favorite pieces on a magazine, so they are extremely visible. You can continue to swap old accessories for new ones if you want a change! : )

I hope these tips helped you!!

EXFOLIATING & BRIGHTENING BODY SCRUB :)

Hi everyone,

Last weekend I made this amazing body scrub and filmed a VIDEO for it, too! As summer is approaching, we'll probably be wearing more shorts, and skirts. It's important to take care of our skin by exfoliating and moisturizing weekly. I was so excited about how it turned out that I wanted to share it!!

This all natural body scrub features four simple ingredients, that can easily be found in anyone's kitchen!

It's very effective and super affordable! It beats buying a body scrub filled with harmful preservatives at your local beauty store.

The ingredients:

Lemon: Exfoliates & Heals Acne
Use 1/2 of the lemon

  • Lemon juice is a natural exfoliant since the citric acid acts as a gentle "skin peel" that removes the top layer of dead skin cells. It also tightens the pores. This will result in a smooth complexion when used regularly.
  • Lemon juice has natural antibacterial properties that make it a good choice to help cure acne and prevent further breakouts.  C/O: New Health Guide

Turbinado Brown Sugar: Exfoliates
Use 2-4 cups

Turbinado Sugar sloughs away dead skin cells & retains the mineral and vitamins present in sugarcane juice, and also includes phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, potassium and iron.

Raw Honey: Moisture & Acne Treatment
Use 2-4 tablespoons

Honey is a humectant. Humectants draw moisture from the air into your skin and are great at retaining moisture. Honey also had amazing antibacterial properties, acting to draw out any bacteria causing breakouts, and also to preserve your mixture from spoiling.

Organic Coconut Oil : Deep Moisture
Use 1-2 tablespoons

Unrefined coconut oil has amazing moisture benefits! It is a light oil that hydrates your skin deeply. It too, has some antibacterial properties.

WATCH THE VIDEO I JUST UPLOADED FOR A STEP-BY-STEP TUTORIAL ON HOW TO MAKE THIS AMAZING SCRUB!!!

I scooped the scrub into these cute little glass jars, purchased at Dollar Tree for $1.00!! You don't want to make too much of this due to it's natural state. The ingredients can go bad, so I would recommend making 3-5 day's worth of it at a time.

This scrub is also an amazing brightener for the skin, making it ideal to apply to the face. I use this scrub on my face once a week, at week's end.

Use gentle, circular motions to work the scrub into your skin, applying more pressure on tougher areas like your legs and feet, and less pressure on your arms.

DISCLAIMER: If you plan on using it on your face, substitute the Turbinado Sugar for finer brown sugar crystals. The turbinado is way too abrasive for your face!

P.S. If you  are using this in the shower, be careful!! It will make your shower really slippery, due to the oil & honey! It's best to purchase a shower mat with a grip. :)

Today I am styling this skirt three ways to impart some Spring inspiration to you all! You may also be able to rock any of these combinations for Easter, as it is quickly approaching.
